TV Unit with a Curved Lacquer Portal, Acoustic Slat Backdrop, Travertine Recessed Bookshelves and Natural Timber Console
This TV unit brings organic forms together with contemporary architectural discipline and a rich material palette. A softened, curved matt taupe lacquer portal frames a vertical anthracite-taupe acoustic slat backdrop. A substantial walnut floating shelf/console sits within the central niche, flanked symmetrically by curved, travertine-textured open bookcase niches. Warm linear LEDs at 2700K–3000K illuminate the rear of the curved niches, both edges of the timber console and the outer vertical junctions, giving the living room a flowing, sculptural, exceptionally warm and distinctive contemporary luxury character.
Material and Colour Balance
Silky matt taupe/warm-taupe lacquer panels form the main portal body and front frame.
Vertically grooved anthracite/grey acoustic panels create rhythmic depth behind the TV and lower console.
Natural beige travertine/stone, distinguished by its porous texture, backs the matching curved side niches.
A natural walnut-veneered floating shelf/console is suspended within the central niche.
Slim solid-walnut display shelves in the curved side niches support sculptural objects.
Concealed warm linear LEDs at 2700K–3000K run along the inner bevel of the curved frame, above and below the console, along the side niches and within the outer vertical reveals.
Polished light beige marble flooring, a jute-and-wool textured rug and a curved solid-walnut/travertine coffee table complete the organic flow.
Architectural Composition and Spatial Hierarchy
Softened curved geometry: rounded portal arches and capsule-shaped side niches replace hard corners, creating a fluid, sculptural composition.
Axial symmetry: equally sized travertine niche towers flank the central TV portal, giving the living room a monumental yet calm architectural balance.
Layers revealed by light: linear lighting in front of the slats and concealed LEDs behind the niches make the design read as a three-dimensional architectural volume rather than a flat wall.
Technical and Functional Details
Concealed steel framing and mechanical suspension: the curved lacquer portal, travertine niches and console are rigidly secured to lightweight steel framing anchored into the wall.
Integrated cable and service channel: TV fixings, electrical outlets and lighting drivers are concealed in a technical void behind the acoustic slats, keeping cables entirely out of sight.
Precision CNC machining and lacquer work: curved surfaces are formed in high-density MDF and finished with multiple coats of matt polyurethane lacquer for a flawless appearance.
